Love spell 2

Acquiescent mist
Wrapping itself
Around the
Ever ephemeral
Air that
Directs it
Carries it
Everywhere

In kindness
To being

The mist on the horizon came to me as if it were a physical manifestation of every cerulæn dream I’ve had & we had for love & for meaning

~○~

Forthwith the
Months
Of days without
Gentle mystification
So that when it
Arrives
It is
Known to be
Of the story
Of the love
This psychic connection
This love spell
Which
We both
Mixed

Where did it begin
& where will it end
Its unknown structure
In the continuity of
Existence

In the intangibility
Of words
Fulfilled somehow
Yet inadequately
In between letters

Mystical typograpghy
My love
If we weren’t so
Good at it
We’d have both been fine

Don’t you think

A weird thing which
Stays with me
Star
Is that I never told
You about all of
My favourite
Songwriters

Somehow that lingers
I guess because it’s
A measure of
Significance

Oh star
The way we were
Was never how we
Could have been

Still it was lovely
It was wonderful
It was too good

I was true

Hide & seek

1

Hiding easily

Seeking

Little you

A favourite game

2

Hide & seek

It stays with you

The hiding

The searching

The finding

Curious you

Always

3

Crawling

Under something

Looking under

Something

For yourself

Incomplete

4

Incompletion

It helps to know

How to hide

& how to

Protect yourself

Every piece

They say

5

They never

Have a great

Answer for

When that

Isn’t possible

No

Don’t

Don’t

For so

Long

It was about

Not about

What happened

What happened

Is a question

You grow to answer

In repetition to

Many

6

Answers

Hidden

From

Self

Anyway

A note

7

Said

Or unsaid

You

8

Hide & seek

A physical game

A break

From visibility

9

The appeal

It lingers

When life

Makes being

Found

Dangerous

10

Searching

Even more

As mortality

Uncoils

Itself

Over

& over

You get used to it

Under crescent moon

from indigo sky.

under crescent moon.

time passes.

never.

is neither short enough nor long enough.

ever.

you have been small.

forever.

you have been big.

forever.

you have reached into the past for the sake of the future.

you plant the hurts and the joys.

you watch them grow.

sometimes you look away

and you miss a bloom.

you also catch so many leaves.

flowers flourish as they transform.

you.

you have made many things.

and you have destroyed too.

you have cried many tears.

sung many songs.

bled for many dreams.

called for the moon to bring back meaning from the meaninglessness.

called for the earth to hold you still.

called for the sun to make you feel again.

while you were shaking.

while you are shaking.

when the shaking stops you will fly again from earth.

beneath the watery moon.

into the glowing sun.

Of comfort

1

You tried

You take

Comfort

In knowing

That

You tried

Questions

Always remain

Just the same

2

Under the cover

Of a laundry-warmed

Blanket

You are

Missing it

For when

It wasn’t there

This is how

Enjoyment

Can be

3

With you I felt

Things about myself

Both amazing

& like I could never

Ever even be like

Just regular

About anything

Again

& then

Messiness

Preceding

Some complete

Retopia

4

The cats were mostly at peace in the evenings. They enjoyed sleeping to television sounds.

5

I think it was hard for her, that not being believed part. It’s just how it is. It happens so often like that. & yet it’s always difficult to accept.

A perennial disjuncture.

6

Only the people who believe are of significance in your life when it comes to these things, they said.

This is very true. You remind yourself to focus on the people who love you. They know & they believe. & that’s all you need.

7

You stop fighting until you can’t. & then you fight some more until you can’t again anymore. & yet you make it to the end.

You break & bend.

Then everything that needs to, starts to make sense again.

& what doesn’t, now, it all makes you laugh.

The possibility of words 2: The life of ideas

As good as

Late winter

What better way

To lay to rest

A restless love

Than by

Submerging it

In words

Once lost

To the idea

Of escape

To the

Possibility

Of love

Words go

Like snow

Come back

Then go again

On their way out

Showing themselves

So beautifully spoken

Through the mouths

Reading & writing

~○~

The stories

I wrote for you

& you for me

Reading you

Reading me

Reading me

Reading you

I believed

In the stories

The stories

Believed in me

I think at some point

You believed too

~○~

If we had anything

We had worlds

& we had words

~○~

If you could read me

The way you wrote me

The way you wrote for me

Maybe things would

Be different today

They say

Try not to

Think that way

It’s not wrong to say

Still try not to

Think it anyway

~○~

Sometimes

Sound

Advice

Is lost on

The broken-hearted

~○~

I wish I was in a place in my life where I was organizing a retrospective of my art instead of a retrospective of my feels…

~○~

Me bleeding fear

Your anger clear

Who are you

After all these years

How could you

Take it all away

& blame me

At the close of day

~○~

Those pieces from us

Where are those choices of us

~○~

Empty notebooks

Deleted pages

Love deactivated
