Enigmatic

Walking towards

Falling sunsets
Dipping themselves
Along the frosted edges
Of our sharpened hearts

Pens strewn upon
The table
You encouraged us
To draw

I closed my
Burning eyes
Photophobic
Shaping
Sorrow
Out of nibs
Of felt-tippesd
Black pens
Found

Anywhere

Now

I am the life
You couldn’t
Quite believe in

Now

I laugh at myself
As I furrow my brow
Tempting my own
Expectations of
What we dreamed of

For

I don’t forget
The polymorphy
We constructed
Out of bricolage

Peripheral vision
Astigmatic
Perception
Holographic lenses
Renewing spectrum

Perhaps the persistent days
Were boring with you
Although I never saw it
That way

That way
I thought
We were

Enigmatic
