A precept

A precept
A spectre
A formulation

Are you seeking
Redemption?

It would fit
Your narrative

You seem
To conjure
From the
Same tropes

I like archetypes

I just think
There are
Ways to
Repeat
Them

We all have
To start
Somewhere

Just you
May say
You
Respect
Me as
An artist

But we
Both know
In this world
You fit the
Part more
Than I do

I think
Much more
Than you
Know

Or maybe
You’re just
Used to
People
Like me
Always
Being
The muse

To people like you

Well I’ve done that plenty
More than you’ll ever know

It was my turn
& look
What you did

Love
I know
You would
Never admit
The possibility
You took
From me

This time
Was different
Though
Than when
In the past
I’ve been here
Though

This time
I just
Could not
Let go
My dreams
Just so
Much
More
Big
This
Time

I couldn’t stop
I needed to not

I don’t really

Understand
What we had
But at some point
In the beginning
Middle
The end

& after

The fact

I got
My
Pen
Back
