at the last second

Photo by Tim Mossholder from Unsplash

since the days
when we would
meet

even then

nothing was ever
meant for
forever

moving around

never going
away
complete(ly)

me

~○~

you are running and running and running
he said

you took that in

when you drank that
wine
you felt
like for the first time

he couldn’t see
inside me
anymore

~○~

after supper
she reads

she laughs
at comedy

and she laughs at
tragedy
too

because

~○~

loving me is like loving someone who
wants to be me
more than anything else
in the whole wide
world wide web

loving you is like loving
again and again
someone who
I met once
a long long
time ago

~○~

under my skin
is always
the first
moment
of my life

brown
and round
black eyes
crying
life

~○~

hold me once
before
we
remember
who we really are
because
you are my first love
and when you die
i am still here

and when you died
i was still there

i didn’t wait though
i walked and walked and walked
some more

i brought provisions

i almost forgot my heart

but i remembered
to pack
it carefully

at the last second
